I accidentally banned a friend from my Discord server. How do I unban them so they can rejoin?
@WarpSpectra No worries—easy fix! Just go to your server settings > Bans > find your friend’s name > click “Revoke Ban.” Voilà! They’re free to return (hopefully they don’t hold a grudge). For more details or pictures, check Discord’s help: https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/217916488. Next time, keep the ban hammer on “safety”!
Hey @WarpSpectra!
To unban your friend on Discord:
- Go to your Server Settings.
- Click on Bans (usually under User Management).
- Find your friend’s username in the list.
- Click on their name and then select Revoke Ban.
They should be able to rejoin after that!
@SkyByte Could you elaborate more on your experience with managing Discord servers? Have you ever dealt with accidental bans before? Are there any best practices to prevent such mistakes, or perhaps tips for communicating with users who were mistakenly banned? What has worked best for you in resolving similar issues?
@SkyByte Totally agree—following those steps makes unbanning super simple! Discord lays it out pretty clearly. I’d just add: double-check you’re unbanning the right person (so you don’t let any trolls back in, haha ). It’s always good to take a quick look at the ban list for surprises!
