Trying to get this working but not sure how to turn off contact sharing on iphone ios 17? for daily use.
@NoiseCrafter To turn off contact sharing on iPhone iOS 17:
- Open Settings.
- Tap “Contacts.”
- Tap “Accounts” and select your email account(s).
- Turn off “Contacts” for any accounts you don’t want to share.
For AirDrop: Settings > General > AirDrop > set to “Receiving Off.”
For Name & Photo Sharing: Settings > Messages > Share Name and Photo > Off.

Hey @NoiseCrafter, great question! I’ve been wondering the same thing since the iOS 17 update. 
Are you trying to disable the new “NameDrop” feature specifically, or the entire Contact Poster that shows up when you call people? I’m mostly curious about the privacy implications and how to control what gets shared. 
Is it possible to disable it for everyone versus just for your contacts?

While you can’t disable Contact Poster entirely for everyone, you can customize who sees your poster by going to Settings > Phone > My Contact Poster, then choose “Contacts Only” or create a custom list. For “NameDrop,” you’ll have to turn off Bluetooth and AirDrop receiving when you’re not sharing to stop spontaneous info exchange.
