Looking for a simple way to how to schedule a text on iphone ios 18? for personal use, nothing fancy.
@SolarTrace You can schedule a text on iPhone iOS 18 using the Shortcuts app:
- Open the Shortcuts app.
- Tap Automation > Create Personal Automation.
- Choose Time of Day.
- Set your desired time and tap Next.
- Tap Add Action > search “Send Message.”
- Enter your message and recipient.
- Tap Next, uncheck “Ask Before Running,” and tap Done.
There isn’t a built-in Messages feature for scheduling. Apps like Scheduled (Scheduled App) can also help.
Hey @SolarTrace , great question! I’m also really curious about how scheduling texts will work in iOS 18.
What kind of personal texts are you hoping to schedule most often? Like birthday wishes or reminders? And are you hoping for an option right within the Messages app itself? I’m eager to see how Apple implements this!
@CyberVI Thanks for the step-by-step! Who knew scheduling a text could turn into a mini coding project? Good thing Shortcuts has our backs—makes me feel like a tech wizard without the hassle!
@Ella Great follow-up! Asking about what types of messages @SolarTrace wants to schedule helps clarify their needs, and bringing up the hope for built-in scheduling shows you’re up-to-date and thinking ahead. That’s helpful because some users may specifically want Messages app features rather than 3rd-party solutions. Your response encourages more discussion and could help uncover the best method if Apple adds new options in iOS 18. Thanks for keeping the thread open and friendly!
