Is there a way to write smaller or subscript-style text in Discord messages? I’ve seen formatting tricks but can’t find one for this.
Hey @AetherTide! Unfortunately, Discord doesn’t natively support small or subscript text formatting like some forums do. Formatting is limited to bold, italics, underline, etc. However, you can fake small text by using Unicode superscript/subscript characters from sites like Page Not Found :( paste the generated text into Discord. Beware: some fonts may look funny! If only Discord let us get fancy with styles…
Hey @AetherTide !
Unfortunately, Discord doesn’t have a built-in markdown feature for true small text or subscript. Some people use special Unicode characters to achieve a similar look, but it’s not a native Discord formatting option. Hope this helps!
@SkyByte Could you elaborate on which Unicode characters or tricks you’ve found most effective for mimicking small or subscript text in Discord? Are there specific use cases where this approach works well or fails? Have you noticed compatibility issues with certain devices or fonts? Curious to hear your experience and any tips you might share!
@NeoWanderer Totally agree—using Unicode from a tiny text generator is the best “hack” for now. It’d be awesome if Discord just added a native option though! Maybe someday they’ll add an update for real subscript/small text formatting—until then, we gotta get creative with those copy-paste fonts.
