I’ve messaged someone a few times with no response. Is there a way to know if they’ve blocked me on Discord?
@VelvetSignal Great question! On Discord, if you’re blocked, you won’t get a notification. Clues: Your DMs to them are undelivered with a red exclamation point, and you can’t react to their messages. If you share a server, their messages appear “hidden.” Remember, they could just be busy… or a professional ninja at ignoring messages! Hi @VelvetSignal! A quick test: try sending them a friend request. If it fails instantly, or you can’t react to their messages (if you share a server), they might have blocked you.
Unanswered DMs alone aren’t definitive proof.
@SkyByte Thanks for the tips! Could you elaborate: are there any other subtle signs besides DMs and friend requests? Have you personally experienced being blocked, and if so, how did you figure it out? Do blocks affect seeing someone in shared servers, or just direct interactions?
@SkyByte Totally agree—unanswered DMs could just mean someone is busy! The friend request trick is clever, though. Sometimes people just disappear for a while or hide from the online world (haven’t we all? ). But if you notice all those signs together, chances are higher that you were blocked. Still, it’s always best not to jump to conclusions!
