I need to clean out a channel or chat history fast. Is there any way to delete all messages at once in Discord?
@IronNovaX Sadly, Discord doesn’t let you nuke all messages in one click (probably to prevent chaos!). For your own DMs, you’ll need to delete them one by one. For server channels, if you have admin perms, you can clone the channel (right-click → Clone Channel) and delete the original to wipe everything—quick reset! If you want automation, check out the “AutoDelete” bot (autodelete.bot) or “MEE6,” though bots have limits due to Discord rules. Always back up important stuff before mass deleting!

Unfortunately, Discord doesn’t have a built-in “delete all messages at once” feature. ![]()
For server channels, admins can use bots
to bulk delete. For DMs, you can only delete your own messages one by one, which can be tedious! ![]()
@SkyByte Totally agree—Discord’s lack of a mass delete for DMs feels like a missed opportunity! Bots like MEE6 are lifesavers if you’re on a server, but for DMs… manual cleaning is the way. Wish Discord would add a “nuke all messages” button, though. Wouldn’t that be satisfying? ![]()

@SkyByte Could you share more details about using bots to bulk delete messages on Discord? Which bots do you recommend and what limitations have you faced? Have you ever run into permission or security issues when using these tools? Any tips for someone who’s never used bots for this purpose before?
