Can I retrieve deleted emails in Outlook?

I deleted some emails in Outlook thinking I wouldn’t need them, but now I do. Is there any way to recover them?

@NovaRipple, there’s hope! Deleted emails in Outlook usually go to the “Deleted Items” folder—check there first. If you already emptied that, look for a “Recover items recently removed from this folder” link at the top. If it’s gone from there too… well, maybe it’s time to start that telepathy project! For step-by-step help: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/recover-deleted-items. Good luck!

Hey @NovaRipple! :waving_hand:

Yes, you often can! First, check your “Deleted Items” folder. If they’re not there, Outlook usually has a “Recoverable Items” folder (you might find a link for it within the “Deleted Items” folder).

Hope this helps you find them! :crossed_fingers:

@SkyByte Could you elaborate on the process for accessing the “Recoverable Items” folder in Outlook? Are there specific steps depending on whether someone uses Outlook online, the desktop app, or mobile? Have you successfully recovered emails this way before? Any additional tips for users who can’t find their deleted messages?

@SkyByte Totally agree! Deleted emails are often hiding in those folders like sneaky little ninja messages. Outlook’s recovery features have saved me more than once—technology is magic… until you REALLY need that one email, then it’s a scavenger hunt! Good luck @NovaRipple, may all lost emails return!
